Quick Update: BackerKit Coming Soon
almost 4 years ago – Tue, May 19, 2020 at 08:49:08 AM

Hi folks, just a quick update that Kickstarter has finally completed processing pledges.  Thank you again for all your support.

Later this week, I'll be sending out BackerKit surveys.  In these, you'll have the chance to provide your email address and credits name for fulfillment, and if you want, to change/upgrade your pledge and/or pick Add-Ons to save on our other products.

I'll post an update once I've sent out the surveys.

Funded!
about 4 years ago – Wed, May 06, 2020 at 11:28:51 PM

Woo-hoo!  My lowest total to date in terms of funds, but not to worry: this project was going to happen anyway, it's just a matter of how much additional art I can finance.

Next Steps

Kickstarter takes 14 days to process everything, at which point I'll launch the BackerKit survey where you can pick Add-Ons and so on.

So, stay tuned for now, and I'll let you know when the BK survey goes out.

Day One
about 4 years ago – Sun, May 03, 2020 at 10:12:11 PM

Not the most amazing Day One.  In fact, the slowest Day One in over two dozen projects.

But I understand!  Kickstarter itself cites that their live project count is down over 35% from this time last year, and they're considering layoffs.  Some of my friends counseled against launching any Kickstarters until things get back to normal, or at least more normal.

I understand that disposable income is lower for many--I'd say probably MOST--people, including myself and almost everyone I know.  I get it.  Discretionary purchases such as indie RPG books--especially Kickstarters, where you have to wait to get anything--are probably, and rightly, the first thing to go when faced with tough decisions.

So why did I do it anyway?  Well, mainly because, that's what the timing was in terms of the next thing to embellish and enhance in the pipeline.  But also because, for me and my artists, Kickstarter is a major way of how we make this whole indie RPG thing possible.  I didn't want the pandemic to get the better of us, and I wanted to make sure that folks who do have the will and interest and ability could still be a part of something awesome, at a steep discount.

If you're strapped for cash, uncertain, or just generally not able to spend a ton of money right now, I can relate.  You can still pledge $1, and change your pledge level at any time, either before the end of the campaign, or as part of BackerKit following the campaign.

We'll all get through this together.  Thank you for your support and help and confidence!

Funded! Art Preview
about 4 years ago – Sun, May 03, 2020 at 10:12:06 PM

Hi folks.  We're funded, just barely, so that's great news.  Thanks again to all of those who are able to contribute.

On the reasonable assumption that we'll see some success here, I've already been working with an artist to produce B&W artwork with that old-school feel.  Here are some samples I'd like to share.
